At Brigham Young University, environmental stewardship matters. Since 2020, I've worked with administrators, students, staff, and faculty to develop a sustainability mission, vision and strategy. As BYU's first sustainability program manager, I now lead strategic planning, assessment and communication for the Sustainability Office. Follow our progress at sustainability.byu.edu.

Barclays UK is one of Britain's largest banks. In meeting the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, the bank recognized an opportunity to streamline its customer communications and reduce its environmental impact. As an MBA consultant from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, I worked alongside Barclays’ regulatory experts to develop paperless communication strategies for 22 million customers.

Yale University has a three-fold mission: to create, preserve and disseminate knowledge. As a member of the Change Leadership & Communications team, I supported the university's finance and business operations. Notably, I managed aspects of a campus-wide ERP implementation, developed employee engagement initiatives and helped implement Yale's new sustainability plan.

The Natural Resource Governance Institute promotes accountable and effective governance in the extractive industries. Supporting staff on six continents, I joined the New York office during a period of growth and transition. During this time, I led a rebranding effort, developed a social media presence, and organized events at the United Nations, Columbia University, Central European University, the University of Oxford, and the Brookings Institution.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched the United Against Malaria (UAM) partnership to raise awareness and funds for malaria control in Africa, where more than 90 percent of malaria deaths occur. Leveraging the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, I produced behavior change communication materials and documented successes. This short film in French and English offers a glimpse of our advocacy efforts in Mali, where I lived for two years.

At Johns Hopkins University's Center for Communication Programs, I worked with public health experts in Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, and Mali to develop Malaria Safe, a private-sector initiative adopted by some 100 African companies. As these companies turned knowledge into action, others followed, shifting social norms and illustrating the power of bounded normative influence, a seminal communication theory in public health.

The World Health Organization's Roll Back Malaria Partnership (RBM) works to coordinate policy at a global level, mobilize for action, and forge consensus among partners. As messaging co-chair of RBM's Malaria Advocacy Working Group, I helped rally malaria stakeholders around a World Malaria Day theme built on broad consensus among partners and new reports from the RBM Progress & Impact Series.
